Strategic Aim

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Working Group was convened by Associate Provost for Academic Affairs in Fall 2023. Their broad charge is to provide guidance for the university in its approach to learning, academic integrity, and professional development with generative AI. This group has three goals for the 2023-24 academic year:

  1. to develop and recommend statements of principles and values rooted in Wake Forest’s mission and Pro Humanitate motto as foundational considerations in using AI at the university;
  2. to recommend academic policy on the expectations for AI usage statements on course syllabi;
  3. and to recommend resources and best practices for upholding academic integrity and learning in the context of generative AI tools.
