Strategic Aim

The Strategic Framework emphasizes the importance of continuous assessment of progress. To structure this assessment, the Assessment Team has adopted a logic model approach, drawing on this time-tested assessment technique growing out of the public health and sociology fields.

The team is creating templates and a regular assessment schedule for each action step under the framework, focusing efforts on critical outcomes for Wake Forest and appropriate alignment of resources to create impact.

Members of the Assessment Team are:

  • Phil Handwerk, assistant provost for institutional research
  • Julia Jackson-Newsom, senior advisor for planning and partnerships
  • Sam Perrotta, chief of staff to the provost
  • Matthew Phillips, teaching professor of law & ethics, Exxon-Calloway faculty fellow, and senior advisor for strategic initiatives (chair)
  • José Villalba, professor of counseling, vice president for diversity and inclusion, and chief diversity officer
