In alignment with Wake Forest University’s Strategic Framework, Global Wake Forest has released its Strategic Agenda 2025, a roadmap that charts the next decade of global engagement through four thematic pillars that correspond directly to one of the University’s three thematic goals:
- Global Pathways and Access | Community of Learning
- Global Development and Engagement | Community of Learning
- Global Research and Assessment | Community of Inquiry
- Global Collaboration and Support | Community of Partnerships
The agenda outlines key aspirations for the decade ahead, such as:
- Advancing equitable access to global experiences through data-driven program improvements;
- Promoting experiential learning as a cornerstone of global education;
- Cultivating an inclusive learning community through intercultural competency development for faculty and staff;
- Optimizing opportunities and contexts for experiential learning;
- Enhancing assessment of issues of importance in international student and scholar experiences;
- Cultivating scholarly excellence through education abroad research;
- Fostering meaningful mutual partnerships through career and alumni engagement.
Global Wake Forest is a central hub for cross-cultural learning and international collaboration, housing the Center for Global Programs and Studies, the Center for Immigration Services and Support, and the RAISE Center for research on international and study abroad student experiences. Over the past two decades, these units have collectively helped increase student participation in study abroad programs from 61% to 83%, awarded more than $750,000 annually in scholarships for global learning, supported immigration and legal services for a growing international population, and garnered national recognition for innovative global education initiatives.
Through its strategic agenda, Global Wake Forest demonstrates how global education is both a catalyst and a connector that enriches student learning, supports faculty excellence, and builds relationships that extend across continents and disciplines.
